SM TAFE’s Aboriginal Services can offer support and advice in addition to a range of referral services to assist you while you are studying. Referral services may be either internal (within the College) or external to available government and community services depending on your individual needs.
We can assist with:
- Advocacy for Aboriginal students
- Student enrolment and application processes
- Pastoral care
- Referrals to internal and external support services
- Referrals for disability support
- Study support

Jobseeker services
Jobs and Skills Centres at Mandurah, Rockingham and Thornlie campuses have culturally sensitive services to help students find work including:
- Helping you plan a study pathway that suits your needs and work goals
- Connecting you with employers looking to recruit Aboriginal people
- Help with your resume, job applications and interview skills
- Help with your job search, including access to our Aboriginal services jobs board, where you can apply for jobs and save your portfolio and
Make an appointment with a Jobs and Skills Centre at Mandurah, Rockingham or Thornlie campus.
Other support services
SM TAFE has an active Aboriginal Education, Employment and Training Committee (AEETC) that provides advice to the College on Aboriginal education and training needs, and we celebrate significant cultural events throughout the year across our Campuses, such as NAIDOC Day.
We also have the Koora Marr Centre at Thornlie Campus and Kadadjiny Mia Centre at Rockingham Campus, which are culturally safe spaces that promote shared communication, respect, knowledge and education for our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
