Key dates

Find all the important dates for applying, enrolling and/or withdrawing for all the courses at South Metropolitan TAFE.  

Unless indicated, the following information relates to Vocational Education and Training (VET) full-time studies that have two intakes per year (semester 1 and semester 2), other courses will have 4 intakes per year or can take start anytime enrolments.

Applications open for all full time courses starting in Semester 2, 2026.

Applications and preference change close

Thursday, 4 June 2026

Main intake applications close. Change of preferences close for all courses.

You can change your preferences by logging in via tasonline.tafe.wa.edu.au 

Up to this date, you can:

  1. add new preferences, for any course;
  2. change the order of the preferences;
  3. cancel preferences; or
  4. change the campus of an existing preference

Waitlist applications close 4.30pm. No further offers will be issued after this date, and students who missed out are encouraged to apply in Semester 1, 2027.

Students are encouraged to apply during the main intake of applications to maximise the chance of success.
