AustCyber

AustCyber is one of Australia’s six industry growth centres and is responsible for the development of a strong and sustainable Australian cyber security industry. In 2018 AustCyber brought together the ten Australian TAFE's that are delivering cyber security qualifications and TAFEcyber was formed. This consortium-run project is a three-year initiative launched in 2019 designed to help the Australian cyber security industry grow and take ideas global. SM TAFE was acknowledged for its leadership in cyber security training across Australia and subsequently selected by AustCyber as project lead. The benefits of this partnership include being able to provide WA’s cyber security industry with world’s best practice facilities and training, and a workforce to meet the state’s growing demand. The project will achieve several outcomes, including the establishment of a governance model, agreement on products and markets, development of TCSOC interconnectivity between TAFE colleges and professional development of lecturers to secure retention of expert staff.
