Building and Construction

Building and construction is one of the biggest industries in Western Australia and employs approximately 10 per cent of the state’s workforce. Billions of dollars are invested in infrastructure and housing every year, resulting in an ever-growing industry full of exciting employment opportunities.

At SM TAFE we deliver practical, hands-on training that covers a wide variety of specialisations including; plumbing and gas, bricklaying and blocklaying, carpentry and joinery, civil construction, electrical and electrotechnology, floor and wall tiling, painting and decorating, solid plastering, telecommunications and wall and ceiling lining.

Our Building and Construction qualifications range from entry level pre-apprenticeship programs, through to apprenticeships and post-trade specialisations and are delivered at our specialist training facilities based at our Mandurah, Munster, Rockingham and Thornlie campuses.
