How On Campus

Learn the safety practices and standards in responding to abandoned ship and survival situations at sea. 

This course is approved by AMSA for the issuance of the following certificate upon successful completion of the course:

  • Certificate of Proficiency in Survival Craft other than Fast Rescue Boats (AMSA approved), meeting the requirements of STCW Reg VI/2 and Code Section A-VI/2, Table A-VI/2-1
  • take charge of a survival craft or rescue boat during and after launch
  • operate a survival craft engine
  • manage survivors and survival craft after abandoning ship
  • use locating devices, including communication and signaling
  • apparatus and pyrotechnics
  • apply first aid to survivors
