Great news for students enrolling for 2025! The Western Australian Government has announced its continued commitment to deliver fee free TAFE and vocational education and training (VET) in 2025, with the addition of seven pre-apprenticeships to grow our supply of skilled workers for the building and construction sector.
The fee free trades pre-apprenticeships will give students an opportunity to learn about a trade such as bricklaying, cabinet-making, carpentry, electrical and plumbing, and prepare them for future employment-based trades apprenticeships in the sector.
In 2025, fee free training will continue across more than 130 courses in priority industry areas including early childhood education and care; health care; aged and disability care; technology and increasing digital skills; hospitality and tourism; construction; agriculture; and defence.
All eligible Western Australians can access fee free training through TAFE colleges and selected private training providers throughout the State.
Since the launch of the WA Government’s Fee Free initiative, around 44,736 Western Australians have enrolled in fee free full qualifications and skill sets.
First Nations people, young people, people out of work or receiving income support, unpaid carers, people with disability, and women facing economic insecurity are particularly encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity for fee free training.
