Welcome Days
Starting as a new student or at a new campus can feel intimidating, so why not pop in before classes start and get some hands-on help? Welcome Days are taking place on the following dates with multiple timeslots available at each campus.
Attendance at a Welcome Day is optional. Choose a date and time that suits you:
Murdoch campus
Thursday 12 December 2024, 10am - 2pm | Campus map(opens in a new tab)
Rockingham campus
Thursday 23 January 2025, 10am -2pm | Campus map (opens in a new tab)
Thornlie campus
Wednesday 29 January 2025, 10am - 2pm | Campus map(opens in a new tab)
Murdoch campus

What can you do at Welcome Day?
- Attend an introduction presentation
- If needed, get a parking permit
- Learn how to get to campus
- Complete a Transperth SmartRider application
- Get your photo taken for your Student ID card
- Take a tour of the campus
- Activate your SM TAFE (Microsoft 365) student account
- Attend a hands-on technology session
- Speak with SM TAFE Student Support services

Student Hub
If you can't attend a Welcome Day, the Student Hub is your one-stop shop for everything you need to support your study journey. First, you'll need to set up your SM TAFE (Microsoft 365) Student Account. You'll be able to access your Online Student Orientation, email and timetable, as well as find information about the library, student support services, your enrolment details (via the Student Portal), and more, from one central place.

Course Orientation
When we are close to semester start you will be able to find information about your Course Orientation here.
If your course is not listed below, please check your timetable as your first day of class will be your orientation session. You will also need to check the "Study Requirements" tab of your course page for information on what to bring on your first day of class.
