With this pre-apprenticeship, you'll be equipped with the skills that employers seek in apprentice heavy vehicle or plant mechanics.
This course is low fee* for residents of Western Australia and temporary residents holding certain visa types. An annual fee cap of $400 for those aged 15-24 or concession holders or $1,200 for everyone else, applies to this course. Some eligibility conditions apply for the low fee training and other fees may apply for some courses. Please refer to the FAQs for more information.

How On Campus
This Certificate II will enable you to assess whether a career in the automotive heavy vehicle industry is for you, as part of the course you will work on a variety of different on / off-highway vehicles and equipment.
Some of the systems that are covered but not restricted to are cooling, engine, transmission, driveline, steering and suspension.
- working on loaders, bulldozers, dump trucks and haul trucks
- inspecting and servicing transmissions, steering, brakes, fuel injection systems, hydraulics, and batteries
- troubleshooting basic faults
- workplace safety and health
In order to make an informed choice about the suitability of this course, you must take into account the essential skills and knowledge required to undertake this study.
