Do you have an eye for style and a career dream to become a hairdresser? 

This course will make you job ready for employment as a salon assistant, on your way to becoming a hairdresser or colour technician. 

The role of salon assistant is an integral position in a hairdressers, helping to ensure the smooth running of the salon and client satisfaction on a day-to-day basis. You’ll learn a range of skills to support hairdressers in taking a client through their entire experience, from providing a warm welcome, performing shampooing, colouring, braiding, hairdrying, maintaining tools and work areas to a high standard and conducting financial transactions. 

Learn from our highly experienced team of passionate lecturers and gain a skillset to become employed as a salon assistant in either a local or boutique hairdressing salon, at a spa, or even at a luxury hotel or resort.

Study in specialist facilities 

Gain hands-on experience in our student Hair, Beauty & Massage Student Clinics working on real clients and developing your technique as well as your interpersonal and communication skills with customers whilst learning the working environment of a salon. You can follow the clinics on Facebook.

Our Mandurah campus underwent exciting developments with new purpose-built training facilities in 2023, including new simulated hair and beauty training facilities, with a hair salon and dedicated training spaces for beauty and massage therapy.
