How Online

This course is a clear, hands-on introduction to using Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools in real life. You don’t need a technical background – it’s designed for everyday users, including parents, small business owners and educators who just want to use AI safely and sensibly.

Across six online sessions (4 teaching, 2 assessing), you’ll try free tools like ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini and image generators. You’ll see how AI can act as a tutor, critic and writing helper, and how to use it with your own documents while protecting privacy and following simple safety rules.

You’ll learn how to:

  • Write clearer prompts using a simple step-by-step framework so AI gives better answers.
  • Get AI to “read first, then answer” using your documents, with quotes you can check.
  • Reduce hallucinations by asking for evidence, limits and simple fact checks.
  • Design small AI “workflows” to save time on emails, summaries, minutes and planning.
  • Decide when AI is helpful (or not) using a basic scorecard for time, quality and risk.

This course is ideal for beginners who want practical skills and confidence to use AI in everyday life, study and work - while keeping a human in the loop for final decisions.
