SM TAFE has been shortlisted as a finalist in the Australian Defence Industry Awards 2024, in the Academic Institution of the Year category.
We are honoured to join the high calibre of fellow finalists in this category including Flinders University and Sir Lawrence Wackett Defence Aerospace Centre – RMIT.
With more than two decades of working in the defence shipbuilding and sustainment industry, SM TAFE has a proven track record of producing job-ready workers.
We recognise our dedicated lecturer cohort and teams here at the College playing a pivotal role in training students for the future of the defence industry.
SM TAFE partners with the defence industry to service its increasing need for skilled trade workers and the focus is on providing training for defence jobs in immediate demand. This includes engineering and trade occupations such as welding, heavy fabrication and fitting.
The Australian Defence Industry Awards is an exciting nationwide recognition program showcasing outstanding individuals and businesses positively shaping the growth and development of Australia’s defence sector.
This national awards program culminates in a black-tie gala event in Canberra on 18 July – SM TAFE wishes all fellow finalists best of luck in these prestigious awards.
