Armadale

Armadale campus is a brand-new training centre offering cutting-edge facilities in a modern learning environment. Choose from nationally recognised courses in community services, early childhood education and care, education support, general education, business, IT, and much more. The Adult Migrant English Program(opens in a new tab) is also offered, providing eligible migrants free English language classes. 

Armadale campus has a state-of-the-art simulated childcare facility for early learning, specialist training areas for IT, classrooms and computer labs for business and general education courses, along with learning environments that replicate real-world workplaces.  Armadale Shopping City is directly across the road from Armadale campus, offering a range of cafes and eateries close by in walking distance, with vending machines available on campus.  

In addition to the main campus, there is a training facility located at 45 Commerce Avenue, Armadale. 

Facilities

Students at our Armadale Campus can access SM TAFE’s library services remotely. Please speak to the customer service staff at Armadale or ring Thornlie campus library for more information.

The library provides:

  • A large and diverse resource collection of books, magazines and DVDs, both physical and online
  • Assistance with researching for information and answers to reference enquiries
  • Information sessions on library and information services, supported with published and online information guides
  • Assistance with study, referencing and learning skills
  • Networked and wireless computer areas
  • Access to electronic information such as internet and databases

Armadale campus features one of the state's Jobs and Skills Centres, where free career development advice and job opportunities can be explored by students and the general public.  The Armadale Jobs and Skills Centre is located on the ground floor of the main Armadale campus building (enter off Whitehead St).

 

 

Smart Travel
We recommend all visitors to campuses take advantage of our Smart Travel information to ease congestion on and around our campuses.

Parking
There are no designated student parking bays available at Armadale campus. Students are not permitted to park in the designated staff bays. 

Public transport
Visit Transperth's Journey Planner(opens in a new tab) , using South Metropolitan TAFE Armadale campus as a landmark to plan your trip or collect a timetable from the Customer Service Centre on campus.

Armadale Line Shutdown information: 

  • Trains are now operating on the Thornlie - Cockburn Line(opens in a new tab)
  • The Armadale Line has been partially reopened between Cannington and Perth stations
  • Train replacement buses are running between Armadale and Cannington stations ((Kenwick, Maddington, Gosnells, Seaforth, Kelmscott, Challis, Sherwood and Armadale)
  • Students are encouraged to continue to plan ahead until the remainder of the line reopens
  • The Armadale Line between Cannington and Armadale stations is scheduled to reopen in October 2025

The Armadale campus of SM TAFE is conveniently located across the road from the Armadale Shopping City.  Church Ave is serviced regularly by buses from Armadale Station, which is also only a 700m walk.
