This course is low fee* for residents of Western Australia and temporary residents holding certain visa types. An annual fee cap of $400 for those aged 15-24 or concession holders or $1,200 for everyone else, applies to this course. Some eligibility conditions apply for the low fee training and other fees may apply for some courses. Please refer to the FAQs for more information.

How On Campus
Develop the practical skills and technical knowledge for a rewarding career in conservation. Gain hands-on experience in treating invasive weeds, planting native shrubs and trees, operating specialised equipment, maintaining habitat refuges, and identifying local flora and fauna.
Enhance your ability to care for natural areas such as bushland, wetlands, and coastal environments through immersive, field-based training. Your studies will include working in our on-campus bushland, giving you real-world experience in restoration and rehabilitation projects. Under the guidance of experienced project leaders, you’ll take part in industry-relevant conservation activities that prepare you for employment in the sector.
Get hands-on experience and build job-ready skills through practical training in our accredited on-campus nursery and natural bushland. You will learn to:
- Recognise and identify native and introduced plant species.
- Restoration techniques
- Collect native seed
- Propagate native species
- Control pests, diseases, and weeds effectively.
- Safely handle and apply chemicals.
- Fauna identification
- Operate specialised machinery used in conservation work.
- Follow essential Work Health and Safety (WHS) procedures
