Core Requirements
Physical ability
- Enjoyment of practical work and working outdoors in varied weather conditions and uneven terrain
- Capability to lift and move heavy tools and equipment following WHS practices.
- Capability to perform manual, repetitive and strenuous tasks, including lifting to waist level and physically demanding activities over an extended period
- Capability for frequent standing and bending with good flexibility and mobility
- Unaffected by allergies to plants and chemicals
Communication skills
- Able to clearly read, understand and communicate both in writing and verbally with lecturers, students and others
- Capable of applying numeracy skills to accurately measure, calculate, and interpret data for work tasks
- Computer skills to utilise the online learning platform in use at South Metro TAFE
Behavioural
- Take responsibility for your own learning, workload and assignments.
- Respect personal and professional boundaries, including on social media
- Interact fairly and respectfully with others of all genders and different backgrounds, religions and cultures
- Have safety awareness. Ensure correct Personal Protective Equipment use and safety protocols are followed at all times.

- Able to work at heights using rope and harness techniques
Requirements Specific to Wine Industry courses
- Must be over 18 on enrolment
Requirements Specific to Sports Turf Management courses
- Must already be working in the sports turf industry on enrolment
