With more than two decades of working in the defence shipbuilding and sustainment industry, SM TAFE has a proven track record of producing job-ready workers. 

Our focus is on providing training for the exciting and rewarding defence industry. There are fantastic career opportunities available in trade areas such as structural steel and welding, metal fitter and machinists, industrial electricians and electricians. Our facilities are world-class, providing students with hands-on experience in a real-life industry setting.

We partner with the defence industry to service its increasing need for skilled trade workers. We support the industry to attract, train, retain and re-train skilled workers and our pathway programs bring together schools, TAFE and higher education and our nationally accredited courses can be customised to suit employers' needs.
