Thornlie
Thornlie, the largest campus of South Metropolitan TAFE, is approximately 18km from the CBD to the south east.
The campus has specialised workshops, and offers courses in the areas of community services, engineering, business, fabrication, heavy duty mechanical, information technology and building and construction.
Thornlie has over 20 specialist computing laboratories and access to modern heavy vehicles. It also features an on-campus business simulator, specialised in medical business training, Koora-Marr Centre aboriginal cultural space and is an Adult Migrant English Program campus.
Facilities
Thornlie campus features a library for the use of students on campus.
The library provides:
- A large and diverse resource collection of books, magazines and DVDs, both physical and online
- Assistance with researching for information and answers to reference enquiries
- Information sessions on library and information services, supported with published and online information guides
- Assistance with study, referencing and learning skills
- Networked and wireless computer areas
- Access to electronic information such as internet and databases

The campus is also within easy walking distance to Centro Maddington Shopping Centre with over 80 retailers.
Vending machines are available on site for drinks and snacks.
Thornlie campus features one of the state's Jobs and Skills Centres, where free career development advice and job opportunities can be explored by students and the general public.
The campus also hosts the Koora-Marr Centre for Aboriginal Learning, which aims to assist Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders at TAFE.

Parking
Thornlie campus has parking available for students with parking permits at the rear of the campus. Car parks can be accessed Monday to Thursday between 7:30am and 10pm and Friday between 7:30am and 5pm during term. Security guards patrol both car parks regularly during these periods and hoon behaviour will not be tolerated. Parking signs prohibiting parking on any ring road or on lawn areas will be enforced by the City of Gosnells Rangers who will issue infringement notices.
Public transport
Thornlie campus enjoys bus stops on Burslem Drive connecting Thornlie campus with the train station and with bus services to Perth. Visit Transperth's Journey Planner, using South Metropolitan TAFE Thornlie campus as a landmark to plan your trip or collect a timetable from the Customer Service Centre on campus.
The Armadale/Thornlie Line closed Monday, 20 November 2023 until mid-2025 to facilitate major METRONET projects.
During the shutdown, trains will not operate between Victoria Park Station and Armadale Station. Passengers will no longer be able to alight trains at Gosnells, Thornlie or Maddington Stations to access Thornlie TAFE Campus services.
